SharePoint AD Self Service Description
The SharePoint AD Self Service will provides a SharePoint active directory web part that allow current login user to see and modify his/her own Active Directory information through SharePoint. You can add this web part to a page, on which you want users to edit their AD information, and configure it properly. After that, when a user log in and enter this page, the SharePoint AD Self Service web part will automatically detect current login user and domain, then retrieve his/her information from Active Directory to SharePoint and show them in this SharePoint active directory web part. If the properties are editable, user can edit it, and click "Save" button to save his changes to AD, then a message about this operation will be shown. SharePoint AD Self Service can: - Gather information from Active Directory for SharePoint current login user and display it in the web part. - Enables users to modify their information in this SharePoint active directory web part and directly save to Active Directory. - User information displayed in web part can be configured in 3 access level: Editable, Read Only and Invisible. SharePoint AD Self Service web part provides a flexible management solution for information accessibility. Every property can be configured as editable, read only (user can view rather than edit) or invisible (show nothing about it) in the web part tool pane. With SharePoint AD Self Service as well as Password Change, administrators save their time a lot by giving users proper permission to manage their own password and information of Active Directory through SharePoint action.
