CFG Editor Description
Editing configuration files for applications and games should be an easy job, especially since many of them are in text or similar format. However, modifying such settings should not be taken lightly because it may damage the installation and render the software unusable. If you are fan of Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight and want to view or edit the settings manually, you will need a dedicated tool that can find and read the values of the configuration file. One such utility is CFG Editor, a lightweight and easy to use program that will help you in modding the keys and sections included in the FS9.CFG file. With a simple interface, that hosts all the functions in a rather well organized manner, this editor will open the target file automatically because it searches in the hidden location where it is placed after the Flight Simulator is installed. As soon as you start CFG Editor, you will be able to manage the settings sections, add or delete keys, as well as change the values for those you wish to keep. A neat function of this tool is its ability to open the configuration file in Notepad with a single click. This way, you can better view and edit the lines if you know what you are up against. The changes are operated on the spot by CFG Editor after you press the 'Set new value' button. To check the modifications, you can use the above mentioned feature and see in text format if the parameters have been set according to your preferences. The built-in search function of the program helps you locate the keys you wish to alter in no time. You can also manage the list of keys by arranging them alphabetically, expanding or collapsing them with one mouse click. To sum things up, it's safe to say that CFG Editor is indeed a precious tool for any user who wishes to configure Flight Simulator 9 in detail, especially since it is very easy to use.
